PUBLIC NOTICE SEEKING BIDS FOR THE LEASE OF FARM GROUND

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Peru, NE is currently accepting sealed bids for the cash rent lease of the following pasture farm ground:

 

Part of Lot One (1) of Tract No. Eighteen (18) ; Part of Lot Two (2) of Tract No. Seventeen (17); and part of Lot Two (2) of Tract No. Twenty Eight (28), except a 4.23 acre tract therefrom; and part of Tract No. Twenty-Nine (29), all in Section Twenty-One (21), Township Six (6), North, Range Fifteen (15), East of the 6th P.M., in Nemaha County, Nebraska,
Consisting of approximately 51.5 acres, more or less.

 

All sealed bids shall by submitted to the Peru City Clerk, Peru City Hall, 614 5th St., Peru, NE 68421, on or before March 13, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. All bids shall be sealed and marked outside the envelope “Sealed Bid for Lease of Pasture Farm ground”.

 

            All sealed bids shall indicate an annual cash rent amount to be paid by the Tenant to the City of Peru, NE, per acre. Cash rent shall be paid biannually on or before May 1 and December 1, each year of the lease term. The City of Peru, NE is seeking to consider a two-year Lease term. Tenants shall also be responsible for related property taxes associated with this farm, which amount is determined annually in coordination with the Nemaha County Assessor. Annual property taxes will be split in half and added to each installment on farm rent during the lease term.

 

            All sealed bids shall be opened by the City Clerk at Peru City Hall, on Friday, March 14, 2026 before 4:00 p.m. All bids will be disseminated to the mayor and members of the City Council for review.

 

            The sealed bids will come on to be opened and considered by the City Council on and at the Tuesday, March 17, 2026 City Council Public Meeting starting at 6:00 p.m., at Peru City Hall, 614 5th St., Peru, NE, to be considered at the Meeting as soon as may be heard in accordance with the City Council Agenda. The City Council has the right to reject any or all bids. All Bidders are invited to attend said public meeting for discussion with City Council members upon consideration of the bids.
